Matematika dalam Budaya: Analisis Etnomatematika dalam Susunan Gebogan pada ritual keagamaan di Bali

In Balinese culture, there is an offering commonly known as gebogan, which is an arrangement of fruit, snacks, and flowers arranged in tiers to be offered in religious ceremonies. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with ethnographic methods, where data is obtained through documentation, observation, and literature review. The results of the study indicate that the process of arranging gebogan offerings involves the application of mathematical concepts, especially in the aspects of geometry and number patterns. For example, the arrangement of fruit on gebogan resembles a cone shape, the size of the number of fruits that demonstrates the geometric concept of dilation transformation, while the number of fruit levels generally follows a certain pattern that can be explained by the concept of ratio or number sequence. This proves that the gebogan tradition in Balinese society is not only full of religious meaning, but also contains mathematical applications. Thus, gebogan can be seen as a concrete manifestation of ethnomathematics.
