Abstract

This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 2 cycles. The research subjects were class II MI Nurul Huda Pendem students for the 2022/2023 school year with a total of 24 students consisting of 8 boys and 16 girls. Data analysis used descriptive comparative analysis technique by comparing the initial conditions with the results achieved in each cycle, and qualitative descriptive analysis of the results of observations by comparing the results of observations and reflections in cycle I and cycle II. The research data was obtained through tests and observations. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded: (1) the application of the problem based learning model approach can improve student achievement. This can be proven from the results of the final test that the student's score before the action was 56.25 on average, students who achieved KKM with a percentage of 37.5%. After the action in cycle I the average learning achievement increased to 67.5, students who achieved KKM with a percentage of 62.5%, and after the action in cycle II increased to 82.08, students who achieved KKM with a percentage of learning completeness was 91.67%. ; (2) the process of approaching the problem-based learning model can increase student learning activity, this is indicated by an increase in the percentage of student learning activity, namely 66.75% in the first cycle with the "good" criteria and increased to 87.25% after the second cycle with the "good" criteria very good "(3) the application of the problem-based learning model can improve the process of implementing mathematics learning, this is indicated by the percentage of learning implementation, namely 80% in the first cycle with the "good" criteria and increased to 93% in the second cycle with the "very good" criteria .
