Eksplorasi Etnomatematika pada Makanan Khas Lebaran
(Lontong, Ketupat, Nastar, dan Kastengel)
This study aims to explore the potential of ethnomathematics in the spatial concept contained in typical Eid food (lontong, ketupat, nastar, and kastengel) in Pekalongan. The research was carried out through a qualitative approach using data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the typical Eid food in Pekalongan contained various geometrical concepts, such as tubes, rhombus prisms, balls and blocks. The concept of building space is closely related to the way of making Eid special food, both in the form of the ingredients used and in the manufacturing process. In addition, typical Eid food also contains ethnomathematics values which are reflected in the patterns, motifs and shapes found in the food. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the typical Eid food in Pekalongan can be a potential learning resource for teaching geometric concepts in mathematics learning. Ethno-mathematical exploration of Eid special food can help students understand the spatial concept contextually, so that it can increase students' interest and motivation in learning. Therefore, it is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the development of contextual and culture-based mathematics learning in Indonesia.
