Abstract

Lack of comprehensive understanding related to mathematics so that Ethnomatematics is present to facilitates students to be able to construct mathematical concepts, as part of mathematical literacy based on students’ knowledge of the culture that exists in the surrounding environment. One example is cultural acculturation in mosque buildings which can be used as literacy in learning mathematics. This study aims to explore ethnomathematics in the Nurul Huda Mosque building, Rejosari Bojong Village, Pekalongan Regency, exploring the relationship between mathematics and culture, especially in the application of mathematical formulas or concepts contained in the tools and architecture in the Nurul Huda Mosque, Rejosari Village, Bojong District. Pekalongan. This study used an ethnographic approach with data collection methods, namely observation by two observers and documentation. The results of the study show that there is ethnomathematics in mosques such as the concept of flat wakes on drums, ceramics, domes, saka mosques, and others. Arithmetic sequences such as the installation of nails on cowhide on drums, and the set of circular nets on cowhide on drums with 2 lines that are side by side but not parallel .  Congruence in the two minarets of the mosque.
