Eksplorasi Etnomatematika pada Pola Rancangan Kebaya Khas Masyarakat Pekalongan

Abstract

Ethnomatematics is a culture related to mathematics. Habits of human behavior in their environment are the culture in question, such as clothing traditions that are rich in cultural and artistic values ​​in Pekalongan. This study aims to reveal the mathematical patterns that underlie traditional and modern kebaya designs, as well as to understand the mathematical concepts associated with the making of these kebaya patterns. The method used in this research is analysis of visual data and interviews with kebaya fashion designers. The results of the research show that kebaya design patterns have mathematical patterns such as fractals and symmetry, and involve concepts such as proportion, transformation, and placement. This research contributes to understanding the relationship between mathematics and culture and provides inspiration for fashion designers to create more innovative and culturally meaningful kebaya designs.
