Implementasi Model Pembelajaran PBL Bernuansa STEM terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMP Negeri 1 Wonopringgo

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a problem-based learning model by involving students directly to understand, design, implement and report the results of activities in solving real problems that are interdisciplinary. Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) is an interdisciplinary learning approach between science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in solving problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the PBL learning model with STEM nuances on the problem solving abilities of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonopringgo. The type of research used is experimental research with pretest and post-test. The instrument used is a test of problem solving skills in the form of questions and student response questionnaires to determine student responses to the use of the PBL learning model with STEM nuances. The population in this study was class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Wonopringgo and the sample was class VIII 7 SMP Negeri Wonopringgo. The data comes from the results of the pretest and post-test of students' problem-solving abilities and responses to the PBL learning model with STEM nuances. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of the STEM nuanced PBL learning model on the problem solving abilities of junior high school students is in the high category, meaning that the STEM nuanced PBL learning model is very well applied in schools. Most of the students showed a good response to the STEM nuanced PBL learning model.
