Analisis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) pada Model Pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning Berbasis Etnomatematika

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the ethnomathematical based Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to teach the subject of curved side spaces to students of SMP Negeri 1 Paninggaran.  In addition, this study also aims to describe the high-level thinking skills of class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Paninggaran after the implementation of learning with ethnomathematical-based PBL models.  The research method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach.  The research subjects were 15 students of class IX E SMP Negeri 1 Paninggaran.  The data collection instrument consisted of pre-test questions, post-test questions, interview guidelines, and observation sheets.  The results of this study are as follows. (1) The high-order thinking ability of grade IX E SMP Negeri 1 Paninggaran students can be described as follows.  (a) Students' ability to analyze is good.  There is an increasing number of students who are able to reach the stage of distinguishing and connecting.  (b) The ability of students to evaluate is quite good.  Even so, it still requires assistance from the teacher.  (c) The ability of students to create still needs to be developed again.  Based on the results of working on the questions, the students' ability to formulate is quite good.  However, in planning and producing skills, more assistance is still needed because there is only one student who is able to answer the question correctly.
