Abstract

Ethnomatematics studies about mathematics related to culture. Many cultures in Indonesia are related to mathematics, one of which is the Pekalongan jlamprang batik cloth motif. However, very few people understand this. The purpose of this study is to find out the mathematical concepts that exist in the Pekalongan jlamprang batik cloth motifs. The research method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic study approach. The data obtained comes from observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses triangulation, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of his research are that there is a mathematical concept in the form of a flat shape found in Pekalongan's jlamprang batik motifs. The conclusion of this study is that the ethnomathematics of jlamprang batik contains geometric elements in the form of flat shapes.
