Abstract

from an early age to build children's character and social skills. Amidst the rise of individualistic lifestyles, internalizing the value of gotong royong is a concrete step in developing attitudes of cooperation, empathy, responsibility, and equity awareness in early childhood. This study aims to examine strategies for internalizing gotong royong values in early childhood and their impact on children's social development. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review. Data were obtained from various scientific sources published over the past five years. Data collection was conducted through a systematic literature search, and data analysis employed content analysis methods, which included data filtering, grouping, interpretation, and abstraction. The study results confirm that internalization of gotong royong values can be achieved through group activities, cooperative games, collaborative projects, role models from parents and teachers, and the integration of gotong royong values into learning activities. Previous studies have shown that internalizing these strategies strengthens children's social development, particularly in improving cooperation skills, interpersonal communication, empathy, tolerance, responsibility, and the ability to resolve conflicts constructively. Thus, children who participate in mutual cooperation activities tend to have high levels of social participation and caring. Internalizing the values of mutual cooperation from an early age provides an effective strategy for supporting children's social development. Collaboration between families, teachers, and the surrounding community is necessary to create consistent social experiences so that the values of mutual cooperation are continuously embedded in the daily lives of young children.
