Abstract

Early childhood development is important for parents or teachers to monitor and accompany each development, especially at the age of 0-6 years or can be called the golden age. This period will affect the development of children until they are adults. One of them is language development, children's language develops from simple to complex in patterns that can be characterized by each child's personality. One aspect of early childhood language development is the aspect of reading skills. To improve early childhood reading skills. Requires a method that is appropriate to the child's developmental stage. One of them is using the letter card playing method. A letter card is a card that has pictures and letters with benefits as a tool to help recognize letters, read, and remember in children. Reading is an activity that often feels boring so it is considered necessary to use aids to develop children's reading interest. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of success of early childhood reading skills efforts using letter card learning media. This study used observation and literature review, namely by reviewing reading materials such as journals, thesis results or previous research results related to the subject matter. The results of the study showed that the stimulation given using letter card media. Early childhood reading skills can develop with the stages of their age development.
