Abstract

Assessment is an effort to obtain data or information from students' learning processes and outcomes. The results of the assessment also serve as a guide for teachers to determine the extent of development that students have gone through and manage learning in the classroom. Meanwhile, language development is an important aspect for children, as a communication tool used to think, express feelings and accept the thoughts and feelings of other people. The aim of this research is to determine the process of assessing the language development of early childhood children aged 5-6 years at TA Az-Zahrah Rifaiyah Bojong. The method used in this research is qualitative research. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the assessment of language development of children aged 5-6 years at TA Az-zahrah Rifaiyah Bojong has mostly optimal development. Although there are still children whose language development has not yet developed. Several children aged 5-6 years at TA Az-Zahrah have developed according to expectations, have developed well and gradually according to the child's stage of language development.
