Abstract

Currently, literacy plays an important role in the future og children. It is known taht in the process og learning to read and write which is les varied, children’s reading and writing skills require special tratment in their learning funtions, resulting in drecreased children’s concertation and boredom in the learning process. The use of a multimedia techonology has opnened a new era in the development og media used in learning and teaching in kindergarten. Multimedia is considered an interesting teaching and learning tool based on its ability in various senses: sight, hearing, and touch. The purpose of this is to implement multimedia technology as the development of early chilhood learning motivation in literacy learning, including the use of multimedia technology in lteracy learning for children aged 5-6 years. This research is a qualitative research. Observation, interview, and document analysis technique were used to collect data. The result of the analysis show taht the use of a multimedia can increase children’s motivation, nterest and learning out comes. However, the efectiveness of the use of multimedia in education depends on several factors, such as the design and content of multimedia, the teaching method used, the characteristics of students, and the available learning environment. Therefor, the use of a multimedia in education requires a comprehensive and integrate approach.
