Implementation of the Storytelling Method to Develop Communication for Group A (4-5) Year Old Children at RA Muslimat NU Al Usmani, Gejlig Village, Pekalongan Regency

Abstract

Abstract The storytelling method can improve the communication skills of young children.The aim of the research is to determine the impact of storytelling in developing children's communication, in group A children aged (4-5) years. Children at an early age are at a critical stage of development where speaking ability becomes an important aspect in the development of language and communication skills. Parents' busy lives trigger a lack of interaction and communication with children, so that children are left to play alone without any assistance or two-way communication. This causes obstacles to early childhood speaking skills. This study uses a qualitative method. Data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The research location is located at RA Muslimat NU Al Utsmani Gejlig Pekalongan. The results show that the storytelling method is effective in developing children's communication, especially moral potential. Through this method, children learn norms without feeling taught or lectured, they are indoctrinated about good morals without feeling indoctrinated. Through the fairy tale method, children's right brain is also sharpened to develop creativity, imagination and imagination. By honing children's moral potential from an early age, we form a generation of people who are honest, creative, independent and dignified for a better Indonesia.
