Abstract

Prayer is one of the worship services that must be done by Muslims every day and it is a sin if you leave it. To instill the discipline of five-time prayer worship to children is certainly not an easy thing to do, so the role of parents is needed. Parents have a very important role to instill religious education, especially in instilling the discipline of five-time prayer to children from an early age so that later children will be disciplined in performing five-time prayers every day until adulthood. This study aims to determine the role of parents in instilling the discipline of praying time in early childhood at the Muslimat NU Kindergarten, Sidorejo Village, Comal District, Pemalang Regency. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, using key informants parents. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the role of parents in disciplining five-time prayers in children is very important. Parents must show a disciplined attitude of enthusiasm in carrying out prayer by always being on time in carrying out congregational prayers so that later the child will get used to praying without being told because the child has an awareness by itself from the habits that parents have given.
