Abstract

KBI Usamah Tegal City is a PAUD institution that has implemented technology in an effort to improve early childhood literacy. The technology used at KBI Usamah Tegal City is through movie watching activities in the classroom. This study aims to identify the implementation of technology in improving early childhood literacy starting from the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages as well as factors that become supporters and obstacles. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results show that the implementation of technology in improving early childhood literacy through movie watching activities at KBI Usamah consists of three stages, namely the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. The planning stage includes activities to determine the theme, objectives, implementation time, and prepare the necessary equipment. The implementation stage begins with reading the prayer first then the teacher gives a brief introduction to the movie to be watched. After watching, the teacher invites children to discuss the contents of the movie. The evaluation stage is carried out through checklists, observations, anecdotal notes with the aim of assessing the increase in children's vocabulary, children's ability to listen, increasing children's interest in stories, and others. Factors that support these activities include the enthusiasm of children, the selection of appropriate films, the availability of technology, and the results of reflection discussions. While the inhibiting factors are the existence of children's movies that contain elements of violence and LGBT and fussy children.
