Abstract

This study aims to find out how parents help early childhood become more independent and ready for the future. Parents can help children become more independent by accompanying them and building independent habits. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. In this study, researchers took data from interviews with parents of children located in Mojo Village, Ulujami District, Pemalang Regency. The data analysis used is qualitative data analysis techniques in this study using deductive methods, and data triangulation checking techniques using sources, methods, investigators, and theories. This study found that the role of parents as mentors and motivators and habituation of independent behavior in building early childhood independence is very important. By optimizing children's physical and mental growth and development, parents help children become accustomed to working alone without depending on their parents. This important role of the family can help children become independent which has a good impact on the mental and intellectual development of children, discipline in doing anything according to their abilities.
