Abstract

Character is an important aspect in the formation of a child's personality. In the midst of the dynamics of the times, the challenges faced in instilling character values in children are increasingly complex. Therefore, the role of educators becomes very crucial in ensuring that the character building process is carried out effectively. This research is motivated by the importance of the role of educators in guiding children to develop a strong and positive character from an early age. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in exploring the understanding of the role of educators to instill character values in class A TK Batik Buaran. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Hubberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study aims to analyze the role of educators in instilling character values in early childhood through the 9 pillars of character, focusing on pillar 2 (independent, disciplined, and responsible) and pillar 4 (respectful, polite, and a good listener). The results showed that children in Buaran Kindergarten Class A have demonstrated a high level of character values in coloring activities and the opening of classes. In particular, they showed a good level of independence in completing their coloring tasks without external help. In addition, a high level of discipline was reflected in their orderly and focused behavior during the class opening activities. They also demonstrated a responsible attitude by tidying up their work area after completion. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of educators is very important in instilling character values in early childhood. Through the right approach and relevant activities, educators can help children develop positive character.
