Abstract

It must be recognized that the process of halal products must follow Islamic rules. Not only that, the supply chain must be guaranteed halal. To increase the role of halal products, the government provides free certification and supervision. In addition, the government also allocates funds to improve the halal industry. However, the inconsistency of business actors is obtained. The data collection in this article was carried out by interview, observation, and survey. Interviews were conducted with 20 business actors taken from 3 Madya cities, namely Bireun City, Lhokseumawe City, and Banda Aceh City. Based on the results of the study, there are indications of inconsistency of business actors in the application of halal values to products. In addition, there is a commercialization of profits made by business actors, so that business actors are reluctant to carry out halal certification.
