Abstract

This research aims to identify agricultural potential in Bojong Lor Village, Kajen District, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, analyze the challenges and constraints faced by farmers, and formulate solutions and efforts to develop the agricultural sector in the village. A qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with farmers in Bojong Lor Village was used to collect data. The results show that Bojong Lor Village has great potential in the agricultural sector, especially in the rice field area with almost 65% of the area being paddy fields, which has the potential to make it a center for high-quality rice production and an agricultural educational tourism village. However, farmers face challenges of inequality in the distribution of agricultural subsidies, drought, and irrigation difficulties that lead to decreased yields and even crop failure. The proposed solutions include improving irrigation systems and water resource management, implementing modern agricultural technologies, diversifying agricultural products, developing partnerships, and involving community participation in the management and development of educational tourism villages. This research provides a comprehensive insight into the potential, challenges, and solutions in developing the agricultural sector in Bojong Lor Village, but requires further feasibility studies to assess the socio-economic and environmental impacts of implementing these solutions.
