Abstract

This study was conducted during the Field Work Practice (KKL) at SD Harapan Mulia, Bali, aiming to examine the use of iPads as a replacement for printed textbooks in the learning process. The background of this research stems from the demands of the digital era, which requires innovation in learning media to make learning more relevant, engaging, and able to increase student participation. The research method involved field observation, interviews with teachers, and documentation of learning activities. This study seeks to analyze the extent to which iPads can replace printed textbooks in delivering learning materials and to identify their impact on student motivation and engagement. The results indicate that iPads enhance interactivity and the attractiveness of learning through multimedia features, access to digital learning resources, and ease of use. The findings also show an increase in student motivation, although challenges remain, such as the risk of device misuse to access non-educational applications. The study concludes that iPads have strong potential to replace printed textbooks in primary school learning, provided that clear usage policies, teacher training, and strengthened digital literacy are implemented. These findings may serve as a reference for other elementary schools seeking to adopt digital learning technologies.
