Abstract

In today's fast-growing digital era, the use of technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), is increasingly being used by the public, especially among students. From elementary school to college, AI is often used to support the learning process. AI not only acts as a tool, but can also be utilized as a companion in the learning process of students. One of the problems with the use of gadgets at the elementary school level is that students are not optimal in utilizing technology to support learning. This condition is based on the lack of digital literacy of students, especially in the use of information technology and students use gadgets more for entertainment rather than being used as a problem-solving tool in doing school assignments. This research aims to analyze the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as a learning companion for elementary school students to direct the use of gadgets in a better and educative direction in the digital era. This research uses a literature study with a descriptive qualitative method, including data collection from various previous research results based on relevant sources. The result of this research is that the use of AI has the potential to direct the use of gadgets for elementary school children in a better and educative direction and support the process of interactive learning activities in the digital era.
