PENDIDIKAN LITERASI DIGITAL DI SEKOLAH DASAR PERSPEKTIF DEWEY TENTANG PEMBELAJARAN ETIS DAN BERBASIS PENGALAMAN

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology demands a transformation in the world of education, including at the elementary school level. Digital literacy is now more than just technical skills in operating devices or applications, but also encompasses critical thinking skills, ethical awareness, and active and responsible participation in the digital environment. Students need to be equipped with the ability to evaluate information, be wise in online communication, and understand the social impacts of technology use. This article aims to examine the approach to digital literacy education at the elementary school level through the perspective of John Dewey's educational philosophy. Using a literature review method, this research examines the relevance of Dewey's principles, such as learning by doing, social experiential learning, democratic education, and critical reflection, in developing a comprehensive digital literacy model. The results of the study indicate that Dewey's principles can provide a strong conceptual foundation for designing digital literacy education that is not only technical but also participatory, contextual, and ethical in shaping students' character as responsible digital citizens from an early age.
