STEAM, Media, Loose Parts


STEAM-based learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) requires innovative and interesting media to increase students' interests and abilities. One of the media that can be used is Loose Parts, which are simple objects that can be processed and created into various forms and functions. This research aims to develop Loose Parts media as an alternative to STEAM-based learning media in elementary schools/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This research was conducted using a Research and Development (R&D) approach which consisted of four stages, namely the definition, design, development, and evaluation stages. Loose Parts media was developed by taking into account the principles of learning media design, the use of safe materials, and affordability. The results showed that Loose Parts media was effective in increasing students' interest and skills in learning STEAM. In addition, this media can also increase creativity and collaboration between students. In its development, Loose Parts media can be adapted to different learning contexts and can be applied to various STEAM subject matter. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the development of learning media that are innovative and relevant to the demands of STEAM-based learning in today's digital era.
