Abstract

Ethnomatematics is a relationship that links between mathematics and culture. One form of culture is traditional dance. Honey Pineapple Dance is a traditional dance originating from the village of Belik, Pemalang. This dance is inspired by the local wisdom of the area, namely as a honey-producing area. Honey Pineapple Dance has the meaning of the daily activities of farmers in the village, namely honey pineapple farmers starting from planting, picking, to processing. This study aims to explore the mathematical concepts of movements, costumes, and props in the Honey Pineapple Dance. This study uses an ethnographic approach which is an empirical and theoretical approach to get an in-depth description and analysis of a culture based on field notes that have been obtained from the results of data collection. The results of this study indicate that the Honey Pineapple Dance contains various mathematical concepts, such as geometry, lines and angles.
