Abstract

This research aims to explore the concept of learning mathematics in the At-Taqwa Pekajangan Mosque Building, to translate it into mathematics in schools and to encourage students to preserve and maintain cultural heritage. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects were two observers and one resource person, namely the management of the At-Taqwa Pekajangan Mosque Foundation. The results of the study show that in parts of the At-Taqwa Pekajangan Mosque building there are mathematical concepts. The parts of the building in question are the dome of the mosque, the supporting pillars of the mosque, the floors and the minarets of the mosque. The mathematical concepts that emerge are plane shapes, spatial shapes, congruence, and reflection. The author also discusses the importance of studying ethnomathematics in the context of local culture, as this can help enrich understanding of mathematical concepts and local culture. In this journal, the authors show that the use of mathematics in daily activities at the At Taqwa Pekajangan Mosque is part of the cultural heritage that needs to be maintained and preserved.
