Identifikasi Mengenai Etnomatematika Kampung Tahu Di Kabupaten Pekalongan

Abstract

Many people do not know that with the development of the times, the existence of mathematics is needed as a tool in every field of life. The study of ethnomathematics is the study of mathematical concepts that live and are inherent in society. Babalan Lor village, Bojong sub-district, Pekalongan district is a tourist village that has the nickname Kampung tahu. The typically processed tofu village created by the Babalan Lor community is proven to be able to improve the community's economy through the UMKM program. Moreover, the typically processed tofu village can also be used as an interesting form of ethnomathematics to be explored. This preparation has the potential to be applied as realistic and concrete mathematics learning media so that the objectives of learning mathematics are more meaningful. This study aims to explore activities that involve mathematical concepts contained in processed tofu in the tofu village of the Babalan area, Bojong sub-district. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used are interviews, documentation, and observation. This study shows that the typical preparation of Kampung Tahu, Babalan Lor Village, Bojong District, Pekalongan Regency contains several mathematical concepts in it, namely geometric concepts in the form of flat shapes (squares, rectangles, and triangles) and spatial shapes (beams, cubes, and half spheres), the comparison of which is equal to, comparisons and divisions that can be used as learning resources in the contextual, realistic, and innovative mathematics learning process. This study shows that the mathematical concept is applied in the activity of making processed typical village tofu which is in line with the cultural values ​​in it so it is useful as a medium for learning mathematics based on local wisdom.
