Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student’s mathematical creative thinking ability in the control class with conventional learning models, to find out the level of creative thinking ability of mathematics students in the experiment class with a make a match learning model, to find out the difference in the level of students creative thinking ability in the control class and the experiment class. This type of research is field research with a quantitative approach. Data collections method using questionnaires and tests. Sample collection technique using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is a paired sample t-test with the SPSS 25 application program. The result of the study showed that the creative thinking ability of students who were given a make a match type cooperative learning model treatment increased. Judging from the average value of the pretest which is 64,4474 and the value of the posttest is 72,3684. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using a paired sample test, it is stated that the significance value is 0,000, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So the experimentation of the make a match type cooperative learning model can be used to improve the creative thinking ability of mathematics students MTs Salafiyah NU Karanganyar.
