Abstract

Teaching mathematics that is abstract in nature, a teacher needs to pay attention to the stage of student development. The learning methods that teachers have applied so far are less varied, teachers tend to still use the lecture method which results in many students who do not pay attention to the lessons. The purpose of this research is to improve mathematics learning results with the Problem Based Learning model, which is problem-based learning that must be solved by students so that it can require students to think and be active in the problem-solving process. This research is a quantitative research because the increase in this understanding is seen from the learning outcomes of students after the cycle. The results of the study found that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model was proven to improve students' understanding of mathematics of space building materials in grade 2 students of MI As Salaam Kediri.
