Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the subjects of Islamic Education (PAI) and Character Education (BP) on the topic of marriage in Islam through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted at SMK Ma’arif NU 01 Limpung with 40 students of class XII BDP 1 as the subjects. The research consists of two cycles, each including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation, written tests, and document analysis. The results show a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The average test scores increased from 59 in the pre-cycle stage to 71.5 in cycle 1, and reached 80.5 in cycle 2. The percentage of classical learning outcome improvement also rose from 30% in the pre-cycle to 66.6% in cycle 1 and 93.3% in cycle 2. These findings indicate that the implementation of the PBL model is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes by making learning more interactive and challenging. The urgency of this research lies in the importance of using innovative teaching methods like PBL to improve the quality of education and student learning outcomes in schools.
