THE ROLE OF PARENTS IN STRENGTHENING CHILDREN'S ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT

Abstrak

Islamic religious education is an important component in forming children's character and morals. This article discusses the main role of parents in improving Islamic religious education in their children. Parents have a strong influence in shaping children's understanding of religion, values and Islamic principles. This research highlights three main aspects of the role of parents in Islamic religious education: providing examples, supporting learning, and creating a supportive environment. First, parents serve as models for their children. They must demonstrate good religious practices and moral ethics in accordance with Islamic teachings. In this way, children can learn from their parents' examples and internalize these values. Second, parents must actively support their children's religious education. This involves teaching them Quranic recitations, prayers, and other religious practices. Parents can also send children to religious schools or additional courses to strengthen their understanding of Islam. Third, creating a supportive environment is key in Islamic religious education. Parents must ensure their home is a place filled with peace, tolerance and respect for Islamic teachings. This includes removing items that conflict with religious values and creating time for family discussions about religious teachings. In this article, we explain the important role of parents in their children's Islamic religious education and how this can shape their character and morals. Emphasizing the role of parents in helping children understand Islamic teachings is an important step in helping the younger generation develop a strong religious identity and solid morals.
