Abstract

Education is a systematic and planned process for transferring knowledge, skills, values ​​and culture from one generation to the next. It involves interactions between learners, educators, and the learning environment to facilitate students' personal, social, and intellectual development. Education is also an important foundation in the formation of better individuals and society. This research is based on the application of problem-based learning methods which have become the main focus in education because they encourage students to develop problem-solving and critical skills. In the context of primary education, it is important to understand how these methods can be applied effectively to improve student learning. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of implementing problem-based learning methods at SD Negeri 1 Babalanlor in improving students' understanding of concepts and skills. This research uses a qualitative approach method. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation and interviews involving teachers at SD Negeri 1 Babalanlor. The results of this research show that the application of problem-based learning methods at SD Negeri 1 Babalanlor is very effective in increasing students' understanding of concepts and skills for solving problems and increasing their learning motivation.
