Abstract
The case of the application of physical punishment by teachers as a disciplinary effort that leads to the reporting of student guardians to the legal channel is a serious manifestation of conflict and violence in the world of education. This situation has negative implications for the teaching profession, student psyche, and teaching and learning climate, especially in the context of the Child Protection Law. This study aims to analyze the juridical implications of the reporting of student guardians to teachers related to the practice of corporal punishment in the educational environment. This study is a normative legal research. The approach used is a legislative approach, which focuses on analyzing the applicable regulations. The primary legal source in this study is the Child Protection Law and Education policy. The data was analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the review show that juridically, clear regulations are needed that guarantee legal protection for teachers and students, including the establishment of strict sanctions against violence. In addition, it is necessary to improve mediation and conflict management skills for teachers so that disciplinary actions do not always depend on physical punishment that risks legal sanctions. As a policy recommendation, the study underscores the need for the Teacher Protection Bill to provide a strong legal footing, protect teachers from threats, and improve the relationship between teachers, students, and parents. Thus, this integrated implementation is expected to resolve physical punishment conflicts and create a safe and conducive education.
