Abstract

The rapid development of globalization and technology presents major challenges to maintaining moral and spiritual integrity among students. Islamic education plays a strategic role in shaping holistic human development that integrates intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic education in strengthening students’ moral and spiritual character through a qualitative literature review. The findings demonstrate that Islamic values such as akhlaq al-karimah (noble character), ta’dib (discipline and ethical conduct), and the tawhidic worldview serve as core principles in forming ethical behavior and spiritual awareness. Integrating these values into modern educational contexts enhances students’ responsibility, empathy, and moral consciousness. Therefore, Islamic education must go beyond doctrinal knowledge to focus on the internalization of values that guide learners toward becoming morally upright, ethical, and socially responsible individuals in an increasingly complex and pluralistic world.
