Simkah Website Services As An Innovation For Marriage Registration In The Digital Era

Abstract

Registration of marriages in Indonesia is important in order to obtain clear legal Scertainty. Unregistered marriages result in legal protection regarding the rights and obligations of married couples (especially women) being very weak. The reality is that many people are not aware of marriage registration. People think that registering marriages is too difficult and expensive. However, in this digital era, the Indonesian Ministry of Religion has provided online marriage registration services, namely through the Marriage Management Information System (Simkah) website. Thus, this research aims to determine the process and influence of the Simkah website in the marriage registration process. This research is a type of normative research which is included in the category of qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The results of this research include the identification and impact of Simkah on the marriage registration process.
