Abstrak

The development of financial technology in Indonesia has encouraged the transformation of payment systems toward a cashless society, particularly through the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS). This study aims to analyze students’ level of understanding of the effectiveness of QRIS in supporting a cashless lifestyle. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, drawing data from scientific journals, proceedings, reference books, and official documents related to QRIS and student transaction behavior. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify patterns and conceptual relationships between students’ understanding and the effectiveness of QRIS usage. The findings indicate that students’ level of understanding influences their interest and intensity in using QRIS, strengthened by perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, and security. QRIS is considered effective in increasing transaction efficiency, reducing reliance on cash, supporting financial record transparency, and expanding the digital payment ecosystem within campus environments. However, its effectiveness is influenced by digital literacy and technological infrastructure. This study concludes that QRIS plays an important role in shaping students’ digital transaction habits. Therefore, improving digital literacy and strengthening infrastructure are recommended to optimize QRIS implementation in higher education institutions.
